Introducing Jared McVay


My name is Jared McVay and I am a professional, actor, writer, novelist and storyteller. I have been a member at large with SVWL for the past two years since moving here from South Carolina.

I have worked as a stringer, with my own bi-line for several newspapers. I was a staff writer for both SAG and AFTRA magazines. I write short stories of various genres for various magazines. While living in Los Angeles, CA, when not working as an actor on a film or television series, I was a ghost writer for screenplays. I have also written several screenplays of my own, plus the pilot for a new television series. 

At the present, I have three books on the market. A children's book - Bears, Bicycles & Broomsticks, and two novels, The Legend of Joe, Willy & Red and Hacker's Raid. Also at present, I am writing two more novels along with some short stories I hope to sell to various magazines.
