Afternoon Meetings ▬ Mini-Workshops Day: 2nd Thursday of each month Time: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Place: Varies—check the website calendar for each meeting's location (see below) Who: Everyone is welcome—members and visitors Evening Meetings ▬ Guest Speakers Day: 4th Thursday of each month Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Place: Varies—check the website calendar for each meeting’s location (see below) Who: Everyone is welcome—members and visitors Etc.: Any special fees and/or RSVP signups will be noted on the website Meeting Locations - Check Website Calendar Prior to Each Meeting Washington Federal Savings Conference Room (enter through the south door) 300 E Fairhaven, Burlington Park on the street, or in the lot across the street to the west—not in the bank’s lot Mount Vernon Senior/Community Center 1401 Cleveland Street, Mount Vernon Park in the lot or on the street Burlington Public Library 820 E Washington Ave., Burlington Park on the street, away from the spaces normally used by library patrons Writers Theater Writers Theaters are held about four times per year, on the standard afternoon or evening meeting days and times. These are fun opportunities for you to share a bit of your work with others, and get to know other writers and their work. These aren’t critique sessions, but you’ll find a room full of friendly and supportive listening ears. Bring a short piece, or a brief excerpt from a longer piece, to read aloud (for a maximum of 5-7 minutes—time yourself at home first). You may also bring a dessert to share, and enjoy the goodies that others bring. Check the website calendar for specific days, times, and locations. Again, everyone is welcome. |
