Critique Group FAQ's
For SVWL MEMBERS ONLY
• What is a Critique Group? Our groups are five or six SVWL members that meet regularly to read and review each others' writing in a helpful, supportive way. (see critique guidelines)
• Does it cost extra to join one? There is never a charge for SVWL members-in-good-standing to join a sanctioned Critique Group.
• How do I join one? Contact a group's leader by email (all emails are listed below) about genre, requirements, openings, location and time.
• What are the requirements? Although individual groups may vary in requirements, basically you can expect to:
(1) decide if your writing and personality are compatible with the group by visiting a few times;
(2) make a commitment to attend meetings and contribute;
(3) be open to accept critique about your writing. Group members are there to help you succeed—remember to thank them!
