Join the Skagit Valley Writers League
Joining the Skagit Valley Writers League has many benefits —even during Covid. We are having Zoom meetings open to writers of all genres, often with guest speakers. Membership is just $25 per year. We help to promote your finished works —be sure to inquire about our 2020 Black Friday promotion where we’ll promote League members’ books all weekend November 27, 28, and 29. During Covid, because of Zoom, the League is now offering two free Zoom meetings for students and/or their teachers in 9th grade through college.
Not only do you get a advanced information about the upcoming events, members also have the opportunity to become involved in critique groups which many find to be invaluable while working on their novels/short stories/memoirs/etc. You are also eligible to participate in Writers Theatre (reading some of your own work) and in First Words. One of the greatest things about joining the group is being a part of a larger group of people that will help you, encourage you, and lend that moral support that we all need from time to time.
Being a writer can be a lonely journey, but knowing you are part of a group where the other members understand the difficulties of getting that line just right, or pulling out that last little bit from our characters, is something very special. It is a camaraderie that we need and the League will help you to thrive from the exposure.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the President Clark Graham at grahace432@yahoo.com.
